In their first visit to Toronto rapso trio, 3Canal with their band the Cut+Clear Crew won over many new fans with what has been defined as a fantastic performance at the Island Soul Festival, Harbourfront Centre.

3Canal delivered a full-length concert before hundreds of West Indians and non Caribbean people that came out for the event, which was produced in tandem between the Harbourfront Centre and the Trinidad and Tobago Entertainment Company.

A report on the event on the Karabana Blog Spot, one of the leading Caribbean blogs out of Canada stated, “It's their (3Canal’s) first time performing in Toronto, and they put on a fantastic show. I heard a lot of songs I wasn't familiar with. I guess I only know the three or four "crossover" hits that get airplay on normal soca stations. They are very talented and have great stage presence. We just love that venue, and seeing 3Canal there was wonderful. And you can't beat the view at the side or the back of the stage.”

A woman who was visiting Toronto from Sweden and just happened to end up at the event sent an email to her Trinidadian friend saying how enthralled she was by 3Canal. The Swede knows of soca and collects music from the likes of Machel Montano, Krosfyah and Sparrow, but had never heard about 3Canal until that night when she saw them perform.

“They are great. Their music speaks to me and what they sing of is what is happening at home and all through Europe right now. You just have to send me all of their CDs or tell me if they have a website where I can get their songs. These guys must come to Sweden soon, I am hoping so,” the woman wrote in her email message.
